3 - including child - injured in drive-by shooting in Phenix City

Three people – including a young child – were injured in a Phenix City drive-by shooting Tuesday morning.

Phenix City police Capt. Darryl Williams said officers responded at 2:10 a.m. to the 1500 block of 21st Street on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police found three wounded victims. Their ages are 26, 27 and 5.

All of the victims were taken by Care Ambulance to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. Two of the victims remain hospitalized in stable condition at Piedmont. The third was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for further treatment. That victim is listed in critical condition.

Williams said police are looking for a two-door Hyundai, possibly silver or grey. The car was seen leaving the area after the shooting. Additional details have not yet been made public.
